I don’t exactly know how things will go in life but I will face them all - HEAD ON with God. ♥

Just finished reading this story at Wattpad. :)

A wonderful story of love, forgiveness, and faith in God

*the picture on the right is a screenshot of the poem Millie Anderson, the female protagonist, wrote at the end of the story

If you do everything with just yourself in mind, asking only ‘What would I do?’, then you are not living your life to the fullest in God.
Peter Anderson, Spiritual Networking (a Wattpad book)
“I volunteer,” I gasp.

Oh, the I there is actually Katniss Everdeen in Hunger Games but I somewhat did the same today - I VOLUNTEERED. However not as dramatic as volunteering for my sister to be a tribute, I volunteer as a participant in the Brigada Eskwela ‘12 with my mom.
The Brigada Eskwela is an event weeks before the official start of school in the Philippines.  Government officers, teachers, students, parents, and other people come to help clean public schools nationwide.
It isn’t really my first time.  But what made the difference was that it is my most vivid memory of having volunteered in this activity.
Fulfilling and enlightening yet saddening, this experience is (emotionally).  Fulfilling because I got the opportunity to help improve the study environment of the children who’ll come to the very room we cleaned.  Yet saddening because I saw how poor the students’ classroom’s condition was.  60 kids need to fit themselves in a room that is approximately 8 x 6 meters.  Their tables and chairs are scarce in supply that it doesn’t reach a 1:1 ratio.  When they sit, their elbows overlap and they can barely move to turn from side to side.  Can you just imagine how un-conducive this environment is?
Despite all these, kids, who aren’t financially equipped to go to private school, still go to school and work hard to learn.  And that’s the amazing thing in this.  A warming thought.
These kids in public schools could be the group of people who will discover the cure to the currently incurable diseases, invent machines that were once thought improbable, and do other great things.
Physically, I admit that it is tiring.  What with all the sweeping, wiping, mopping, etc.  to clean and to tidy up the room.  But I realized this is just a small thing to offer to help fulfill dreams and to be a vessel of blessing to other people.
I am honored and humbled to be able to participate.  It made me realize how blessed I am to be able to study in private schools with enough space for me and my bags.  With air-conditioned facilities.  Without  unnecessary elbow-touching with my seatmate.  :)) Yes, even if there were lots of flight of stairs to climb to arrive at the classroom and the bulky books I had, I am grateful.
And I know this won’t be my last volunteer work.  There are more to come.  I’m excited. :>

Lesson from a Sleeping Child

Yesterday at church, as the worship is going on, I noticed the little girl two rows in front of us. She is a cute little girl who I often see at church. Eventually, even with the booming sound of the voices and instruments of the worship band, she was able to sleep soundly while nestled in her mother’s arms.

I realized something because of this.

When we have problems in life, we are shaken that can be equated with the resounding sound system while worshipping. However loud it may get,. we can still sleep soundly like that ickle child. If we have Jesus in our lives.

He will readily cradle us in His mighty arms and empathize with us in our lowliness. Just like David says in the book of Psalms,

”Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me… Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

with Jesus, we need not to be worried about the troubles we are going through. Just hold onto Him and He will carry our burdens just as He promised.
